Why see an osteopath?
An Osteopath's comprehensive approach to healthcare is which makes treatment unique. Osteopaths help reduce inflamed tissue with a number of methods ranging from massage of soft tissue to manipulation and electrotherapy. This helps reduce muscular spasm and increase mobility, creating an optimal anatomical environment in which damaged tissues can heal. Osteopaths do not simply treat pain but rather address the cause of the disturbed state of natural health. Patients are looked upon as individuals with their own unique requirements. Treatment is designed to correct each individual's strain patterns and mechanical problems in order to stimulate their own natural healing processes. What to expectThe first consultation lasts 30 minutes, in which a detailed case history is taken, followed by an examination and concluded by treatment (if deemed appropriate). The aim is to decrease the symptoms and alleviate the pain by treatment and advise you on exercises/rehabilitation programme to strengthen and take preventative care for your body and the injury.
