Dulwich Osteopathic Clinic - the backbone of pain relief

What is pain?

Trouble with your back does not simply give you back pain. It can and often is the cause of more remote symptoms like pain in the buttocks, groin or legs ("sciatica"). This is often brought about by pressure on specific nerve roots in the spine.

Problems in the back/neck, because they can disturb spinal mechanics, can also bring on headaches and/or pain in the face, shoulders and arms. Osteopathic treatment is often the most effective first line of attack in trying to correct these very debilitating problems.

Pain is best interpreted as a warning signal. It is the body's natural defense mechanism to alert you to a problem. Osteopaths diagnose the cause of pain and can do a lot to help reduce the level of your pain and suffering.
